A forecast window is not permission to operate.
WorkWindow helps compare forecasts with your limits. It cannot replace professional judgement, procedures or local observations.
Effective 7 September 2026 · Public betaBefore every operation
- Confirm that the saved limits match the current approved procedure.
- Check official forecasts, warnings and the issue time of every source.
- Use current local observations and account for site-specific effects.
- Verify vessel, equipment, personnel, communications and emergency readiness.
- Apply the organisation's formal risk assessment and go/no-go authority.
Known limitations
Forecasts are model outputs with spatial and temporal uncertainty. Conditions can change between model updates. Coastal terrain, shelter, currents, local waves and rapidly developing weather may not be fully represented. Missing data breaks a verified WorkWindow period; it must never be assumed safe.
Alerts are not emergency communications
Email, browser push and SMS may be delayed, filtered or unavailable. Do not rely on WorkWindow alerts for emergencies, navigational warnings or immediate hazard communication.
Stop-work responsibility
A displayed window can become unsuitable at any time. The responsible person must delay, stop or abort work whenever actual conditions, warnings, equipment status or professional judgement require it.
